Koroit Opal Turtle Necklace

230.00

Turtles have been major influences in mythology and origin stories for hundreds of years. They are one of the oldest symbols to represent the Earth. One of my favourite origin stories comes from the Seneca Haudenosaunee (Iroquois). When Mother Sky fell, the great Turtle rose from the waters to break her fall.

This Turtle necklace features a magical egg like koroit opal from Queensland, Australia. This stone has a lot of subtle sparkle and coloring. This stone is set in a gold fill bezel. The turtle is all hand sawed, stamped, and polished smooth. His beady inquisitive eyes are made of pure recycled molten silver. The silver has been patina darkened and sanded in places for maximum contrast. This design is Navajo inspired.

It rests on an 18" darkened sterling chain with an easy to use lobster clasp. The pendant is roughly 1.75" tall.

As always comes sweetly packaged in a jewelry box ready for gifting.
