In a story called the Havamal, Odin is said to hang from a tree (possibly Yggdrasil, the Norse World tree) for 9 nights until he in a way earns the runes. Runes are said to posses magical properties. They imbue the one who wears them or the item them are on with what they represent. In the old days, they would be carved into weapons or jewelry.This will come in a jewelry box ready for gifting.
